Car Hop
Save the date for October 10 when our teens will present a 50's car hop complete with drive in as well as indoor seating. This annual event helps to raise funds for the May mission trip.

Prayer Shawl Ministry
The regular meetings of the Prayer Shawl Ministry will start up again at 7:30 p.m. on the second Monday of each month, beginning on
September 13. After everyone was able to refresh and relax during the summer, we look forward to seeing past members of the group and we invite all knitters and crocheters to join us. Over 25 shawls were given out over the summer, including 17 that were sent to the "Prayer Shawls for Fallen Soldiers - Dover Program," and two to a program for homeless veterans in Hartford.
Backpacks for Gifts of Love
The Board of Christian Outreach is collecting donations for purchasing backpacks. Gifts of Love has 150 children who receive a bag of groceries each Friday which is to help feed them over the weekend when the school breakfast and lunch programs are not available. They would like to pack the food into backpacks which would be returned empty each Monday. We have found a supplier where we can purchase backpacks for $7.00 each. Our goal is to buy 150 backpacks. If we exceed that number, the extra ones will be used as school backpacks. Please consider buying one or two backpacks. Checks (made out to WACC with "Backpacks for GOL" in the memo line) or cash may be left in the church office. Please call Ruthie Foster with any questions.

Habitat for Humanity
Outreach has secured 10 spots on
Saturday, October 9th for Habitat for Humanity's Building on Faith Week. There will be a sign up sheet available starting Sunday, September 12th. Spots will we filled on a first come basis. Sign up early, as the spots are sure to fill up quickly!

Stewardship Goal
As we start preparing for the more relaxed activities of the summer months, please remember that the church expenses don’t take a vacation. Bills continue to arrive during June, July and August and must be paid. Please remember to send in your pledge contributions - or pay ahead so you won’t have to think about it until September!
