We are a lay group providing Christian worship services every Thursday at Avon Health Center, a nursing home
and rehab center on West Avon Road (Route 167). The ministry was started over twenty years ago, and now has
an average attendance of 30 to 50 people per week. We need your help! We need LEADERS AND MUSICIANS!
Leaders conduct the service: Reading scripture, giving a simple message or “reflection†(5-10 minutes) and
greeting the people. Musicians play the piano or guitar to accompany hymn-singing and to provide “backgroundâ€
music during the service. We also welcome singers to “boost†our hymn-singing and to perform a solo piece if
they would like to.
No previous experience is necessary. We offer lots of support and guidance. You can “apprentice†with one of
our seasoned volunteers if you like. And the old folks LOVE the services and those who come to conduct them!
Volunteers are warmly, lovingly welcomed! Only requirement: A desire to serve!
• Great service opportunity for adults, teens, college students!
